Role Overview:
The Design Architecture Assistant Intern will work closely with our creative design team, supporting sustainable educational design projects from conceptualization to final deliverables. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about architecture, sustainability, and the role design plays in education. The intern will have the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects and develop skills essential for a career in architectural design focused on education.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design team in creating sustainable, educational architectural designs and detailed drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
- Assist in developing presentation materials, renderings, and digital models to illustrate design concepts.
- Participate in collaborative brainstorming sessions, bringing fresh ideas to discussions on educational space design and sustainability.
- Conduct research on innovative materials, environmental impact, and sustainable practices relevant to educational architecture.
- Maintain organized project files, assist with documentation, and prepare materials for internal and client presentations.
- Attend team meetings, design reviews, and site visits to gain exposure to project processes and client interactions.
Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of an Architecture, Sustainable Design, Interior Design, or Urban Planning program.
- Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- An interest in sustainable design with a passion for innovative educational spaces.
- Strong visual and written communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to organize tasks efficiently, manage priorities, and adapt to project needs.
- Collaborative attitude, open to feedback, and motivated to learn from experienced team members.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with sustainable building standards such as LEED and WELL.
- Understanding of green building materials and their applications in educational environments.
- Experience in 3D modeling software (e.g., Rhino) and knowledge of educational space design is a plus.
