Overview
Join Esri Summer Internship Program  
Collaborate with engineers to design and test Esri software as a Product Engineer intern during the summer. ArcGIS products offer students a unique chance to interact with software utilized on cloud platforms, mobile devices, and desktops. You’ll have the chance to actively contribute to the development of mapping and spatial analytics software that is integral to various industries and fields!
Responsibilities
What You'll Do 
Esri interns gain knowledge of the software development lifecycle, GIS concepts, and contribute to real projects, all while being mentored by team members along the way. Our interns work on a wide range of exciting projects. Here are some examples of work you may do:
- Test software components and their functionality through the user interface and provide usable, informative feedback on user experience
- Learn existing product technologies and troubleshoot production issues in current and past software platform versions
- Document software issues found during testing; reproduce bugs and work closely with Software Development Engineers to resolve these issues 
- Assist in the design and development of new features or functionalities in ArcGIS to address user needs
- Identify user scenarios and best practice approaches for applying ArcGIS 
- Provide real-time support with release management activities that may include system translation and localization to ensure software is ready for release.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a 4-year undergraduate, graduate, or PhD program at a university in the United States, majoring in GIS, geography, engineering, sciences, or a related field; undergraduates must be in a junior or senior standing
- Knowledge of or experience with GIS, Web GIS, or ArcGIS
- Able to obtain work authorization in the United States in 2025
- Available to complete a consecutive, onsite 12-week internship beginning in May or June 2025
Recommended Qualifications
- Software testing or scripting skills 
Program Timeline 
- Applications Accepted: September 1–December 31, 2024 at 5:00 pm PST
- Interviews: Students selected for phone interviews will be notified by email on a rolling basis October 2024–January 31, 2025
- Internship: 12 weeks beginning in late May or June
