Gig: Instructional Design Project

The Project
Niner Finances has modules available for both students and the community to learn more about financial literacy. These modules are static lessons that lack a way to encourage engagement with the material. The students selected for this project will redesign existing static financial wellness modules into engaging, interactive learning experiences. This work will enhance student engagement, improve knowledge retention, and support more effective learning outcomes within the Niner Finances program. The student will: ~Review and analyze existing static modules in Canvas ~Build a new module in Articulate Rise and identify opportunities to improve engagement through interactive elements ~Convert content into interactive formats (e.g., quizzes, decision scenarios, clickable pathways, embedded reflections) ~Apply principles of user experience and instructional design to improve clarity and flow ~Ensure accessibility and ease of navigation for diverse student users ~Test modules and refine them based on usability and feedback ~Document design choices and provide basic guidance for future updates

Learning Experience
This project is ideal for students in the College of Education who are interested in being able to create learning content to master this skill as they prepare for future careers in an increasingly digital learning environment.

Outcomes
One module per 10-15 hours is expected. If any modules will not be completed within the project term, we also expect documentation of where they are leaving off for the next person that would pick up the project .
