STW: COMM Learning Community Peer Mentor

The COMM Learning Community Peer Mentor will perform the following tasks in Spring 2026:
Holds weekly consultations in a relaxed "office hours" format with COMM Learning Community students regarding advice on school work, clubs/organizations, school-life balance, internships, course registration ideas, and college navigation.
Holds biweekly academically-oriented class review sessions with the COMM Learning Community, including four exam reviews.
Helps the COMM Learning Community Director plan six social events to build community among the 21 COMM Learning Community students
Assists the COMM Learning Community Director with a massive recruitment drive between February and April, including the fielding of questions via email and engaging informal phone chats and social media exchanges with prospective COMM Learning Community members
Helps wholly restructure the COMM Learning Community's social media and online presence.
Consults with the COMM Learning Community Director about changes to the community's offerings, including helping prepare for a revamp of the COMM Learning Community syllabus and readings for Fall 2026.
Creates a COMM Learning Community alumni listserv and program of exchange throughout the cohort's progression at Charlotte and beyond
