Job Description

The Energy Engineer serves as the University’s technical expert for energy management, utility analysis, and energy efficiency initiatives across campus facilities. This position supports the monitoring, analysis, and optimization of energy and water usage to reduce operating costs, improve system performance, and advance institutional sustainability goals.

Working closely with Facilities Maintenance, Capital Projects, internal and external partners, the Energy Engineer provides engineering-level analysis, identifies mechanical and operational deficiencies, and supports the implementation of energy efficiency and conservation projects. This role balances analytical work, field investigations, and project support, with a long-term focus on total cost of ownership and campus-wide energy performance. Full-Time UNC Charlotte
