Job Description

Position Description:

Provide engineering and construction management services from conceptualization through release for operation for new construction and large scale capital improvement projects at electric generating stations, water systems and other project sites. Provide engineering services to the generating stations to maintain availability and efficiency of station equipment. Provide supervision of less experienced engineering staff, hourly employees, and contractors.

Essential Job Tasks:

  • Design, plan, and coordinate medium to large scale construction and capital improvement projects from inception through release for operation.
  • Prepare and/or review designs, calculations, specifications, drawings, plans, technical reports, and schedules for complex and/or specialized projects.
  • Assist Operations, Maintenance and/or Technical Services departments by providing engineering support and supervision for complex and/or specialized projects.
  • Perform and/or direct analytical studies of highly complex mechanical, electrical, civil, and/or chemical systems and recommend innovative solutions to improve processes.
  • Perform and/or direct inspections of various station equipment, document condition, and recommend best practices to repair and/or improve equipment.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams consisting of construction contractors, engineering firms, equipment vendors, station personnel, and other internal/external and technical/non-technical members.
  • Provide leadership support and guidance to junior engineers as needed to assure proper execution of assigned projects.
  • Document condition assessments, solutions, meeting minutes, and other project activities and prepare progress, performance, environmental, and inspection reports.
  • Manage equipment and/or construction contracts for compliance with technical specifications, commercial terms, payment of invoices, and budget.
  • Prepare requisitions, budgets, estimates, and other financial documentation for the procurement of equipment and contract services and departmental budget preparation.

Position Requirements: 

Sr. Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited school + 8 years experience required.
  • PE license is required.

Compensation Information:
$104,620 -$130,770 (min. - mid.)

Engineer III

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited school + 5 years experience required.
  • FE license is required. 

Compensation Information:
$93,830 -$117,290 (min. - mid.)

Engineer II

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited school + 2 years experience required.
  • FE license is preferred. 

Compensation Information:
$84,180 - $105,210 (min. - mid.)

Engineer I

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited school required.
  • FE license is preferred. 

Compensation Information:
$75,500 -$94,350 (min. - mid.)
