Job Description
CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Quality Technician II.
Type: Contract
Job Title: Quality Technician II
Location: Durham, NC
Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline preferred, equivalent combination of education and laboratory experience may be considered.
Description
The Quality Technician II performs routine laboratory testing and environmental monitoring activities to support quality control, product release, validation, and manufacturing operations. This role conducts microbiological and analytical testing using established procedures while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with laboratory quality standards. The position works with manufacturing, sterilization teams, vendors, and contract laboratories to support site quality initiatives.
Qualifications

Experience working in a laboratory environment supporting quality control or microbiological testing.

Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as TOC, Gram staining, growth promotion, particulate count, bioburden, sterility, endotoxin testing, or cell-based assays.

Knowledge of laboratory documentation, data entry, and record-keeping practices.

Experience supporting investigations, CAPA activities, or process improvements preferred.

Ability to manage samples, maintain laboratory inventory, and follow testing schedules.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Perform environmental monitoring of water, air, and surface quality.

Conduct testing of components and finished goods according to laboratory schedules.

Document test results and maintain accurate laboratory records.

Support sample tracking, laboratory inventory, and routine laboratory maintenance.

Assist with assay validations, equipment qualifications, and SOP updates.

Collaborate with laboratory leadership to identify technical issues and support solutions.

Train new personnel and support laboratory workflow coordination as needed.
