STW: Data Science Peer Advisor

The School of Data Science is seeking 1-2 peer advisors that will work 10-12 hours
per week from May 18th - August 10, 2026 and through the Fall 2026 and Spring
2027 semesters.

Peer advisors will support fellow undergraduate students in the School of Data
Science by:
responding to general inquiries around the advising and registration
procedures
providing information about various campus resources and making
referrals when appropriate
creating awareness of academic policies and procedures
participating in SDS projects and programs (examples: small group
advising, workshops, Explore, SOAR, Gold Rush, Admitted Student events)
communicating reminders to SDS students around important college and
university dates and deadlines (e.g., registration windows, drop/add,
withdrawal)
working with faculty and staff advisors in SDS to conduct follow-up
outreach to students during the Returning At Risk, Early Alert, Midterm
Grade, and Non-Registered campaigns
