First-Year and Transition Programs offers a number of programs that support all students, whether they are a first-time-in-college student transitioning to university life, a transfer student who is new to Charlotte, or just looking for a way to feel more connected to campus. To empower first-year students at UNC Charlotte through transformative programs that cultivate academic resilience, foster meaningful connections, and develop holistic growth. We provide essential resources, personalized support, and enriching experiences that equip students with the confidence, skills, and networks needed to thrive–both in college and beyond.

The Project
The Program Planning Intern will assist FYTP staff in planning and support for various events. Some will occur during the internship, some will occur in the following semester. Specifically, they will 1) work with FYTP staff to create checklists and logic models to assist in such planning and 2) assist with execution to the full extent time allows. Tasks may include interviewing FYTP staff about procedures, documenting meeting minutes, contacting vendors for quotes, making space reservations, organizing sign-in materials, creating outreach/publicity materials, and related duties as assigned.

Learning Experience
The student will gain hands on experience with planning and executing high impact collegiate programming. This will enhance organizational, communication and networking abilities.
