Job Description:
Titled Product Application Specialist – Intern, this is a temporary/intern (15-30 hours/week) position within Huber’s Product Engineering team, based at the corporate office in Charlotte, NC. The position is available for immediate start and runs through the end of August 2026. Below is a list of responsibilities an intern would be expected to perform:
1. Technical Content Creation and Management
• Create technical documents addressing specific product applications.
• Manage a database of technical document collateral on all HEW websites.
• Create and update AutoCAD and SketchUp™ installation details.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing and Outside Sales team members.
• Work with fellow PE team members to formulate creative ways to solve unique construction problems.
2. Technical Support
• Assist other PE team members with technical customer inquiries.
• Work with the Outside Sales staff on field details and support (may require job site visits).
3. Training and Education Support
• Assist presenters with collateral needed to host educational and new hire training events.
• Manage educational development projects that support our departmental initiatives.
4. Travel will be flexible to accommodate the student’s academic schedule

6. This position is based in our Charlotte, North Carolina office
Required Competencies:
• Working for a 4-year degree in engineering or another technical field from an accredited university.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Can convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences in creative ways
• Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills.
• Passionate about solving problems and helping customers.
• Experience with technical drafting programs (SketchUp and AutoCAD).
• Must have a strong “can-do” work ethic, positive attitude, and team mentality.
• Enjoy working with people and individually. This role will be a good mix of team and solo projects.
• Self-starter with high focus on quality, customer service, and attention to detail.
• Enjoys supporting & facilitating the success of others
• Having a training mindset-enjoys helping others learn
• Experience in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office
Preferred Competencies
• Understanding of building code
• Experience with wood construction or engineering
• Understanding of building science terms and principles
• Interest or experience in the manufacturing of engineered wood products
