You'll be assigned to a team and work on real-life projects that bring our qualification delivery and services to life. You'll also have direct access to a senior member of the team, as each intern will be mentored to help you make the most of the 10-week program.

What Does the Internship Program Offer?
Successful candidates will spend 10 weeks working with our Technology teams.
You will be paid for the duration of your internship. The internship begins on Monday, June 2 nd and ends Friday, August 8 th .
Pearson's PAICE (Pearson AI Content Ecosystem) platform under Digital & Technology group is seeking a software developer intern to support platform API team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in GenAI technology (LLMs - OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Agentic Frameworks like AutoGen/Semantic Kernal/CrewAI) and contribute to content generation workflows.
Job Description
As aContent GenAI Intern, you will have the chance to join our PAICE platform's content api team for the summer. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to immerse yourself in R&D in the fields of AI/ML, GenAI (LLMs, Agentic Frameworks and patterns like MCP - model context protocols) technologies, all while contributing to critical projects focused on accelerating content generation workflows.
What does the 10-weeks involve?
During the 10-week internship, you will get an opportunity to contribute to adding new features to projects in production by deploying cutting edge AI/ML, GenAI technologies.
To name a specific work streams 1) Build Agents that are tasked with "Data Conversion" activities - Build an agentic based workflow that coverts ePUB/PDF file into PAICE native format 2) Build API Agent that generates and validates Rest API contracts based on use case.
In addition, to demonstrate capabilities, you will get an opportunity to build UI using React framework.
This position operates in hybrid mode: MON and FRI - Remote. TUE-WED-THU in-person at Page Road, Durham, NC office.
Minimum Requirements

Enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

Hands on experience with Python language is a must

Prior experience building integrations with LLM's, building REST APIs using Fast API is a plus

Prior experience building ML models and building agents with Agentic Frameworks is a plus

Understanding of code versioning tools, such as GIT.

Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.

Strong fundamentals and problem-solving skills.

Communicate equally clearly in writing, code, and speech.

Graduation date of May 2026

Must be able to work hybrid; in-person/remote at our Durham office for the entire 10-weeks
