Job Description

Tower Engineering Professionals has openings for part-time intern positions that qualify for work-based learning credits.  These positions provide opportunities to work on several engineering disciplines like Civil, Structural and Mechanical, as well as Construction Management.  These can lead to full-time positions after graduation.  Several members of the company's executive team started their career at TEP as college interns. Part-Time Intern Position

Department:  Structures and Civil

Employment Status:  Part-time

Summary
Position requires basic knowledge of civil design and engineering or construction management techniques. Will work directly with Engineers to expand practical knowledge of these techniques.

Minimum Qualifications
Required Education: Currently enrolled in engineering or construction management classes at an accredited institution.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to multi-task and work on different projects simultaneously (antenna mods, collocation, raw land, drawings for multi-carrier standards)Moderate to Strong technical, written, and oral communications skills

Essential Functions
Assist engineer to design civil solutions to unique obstacles on a site including storm water control, access road grading and retaining wall design
Devise new approaches to problems and prepare or modify drawings, monitor work compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and TEP standards
Prepare and develop detailed AutoCAD drawings from GIS and/or site survey
Work with multiple jurisdictions to comply with permitting and zoning requirements
Potential overflow into other areas of Civil engineering or construction management

Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. 

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
