About the Internship

As a Graphic Design Intern, you will have the opportunity to apply your design skills in a real-world setting, contributing to projects that have a tangible impact on communities in New York and New Jersey and gain project management experience. You will work closely with our PA Studio Creative Services Graphic Designers, marketing, and communication teams on various design projects, from branding to digital media, helping to convey our message and mission effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation and design of marketing materials, including flyers, brochures, social media graphics, posters, and presentations.

  • Collaborate with PA Studio management and team members to conceptualize and develop visual content for internal and external communications.

  • Help maintain the integrity of our brand by following established design guidelines.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to come up with innovative ideas for marketing campaigns.

  • Support the design team in other projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Enrollment at a college or university at the time of the internship

  • Major in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other graphic design software. Premiere and After Effects are a plus.

  • Familiarity with project management software like Wrike, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook, or the willingness to learn.

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, design, and production skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Print Production.

  • Basic motion graphics and animation skills or willingness to learn.

  • Executive Functioning and Project Management skills.

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud libraries for asset management.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and identify priority tasks and projects.

  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details.

Internship Details

  • The start date will be Thursday, May 28, 2026

  • The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 21, 2026

  • This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)

  • In accordance with Port Authority policy, this position permits interns to work remotely a maximum of one day per week. In person collaboration is essential to how the Port Authority conducts business and regular in-office days or team collaboration days may be required depending on business needs. Some internships may require interns to be fully in-person.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The hourly rate range is $18.07 to $30.31 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
