The Executive Pathways Program is a paid summer internship (June - August) for college students to explore a rewarding career in public service.

This position is eligible for telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) for applicants who reside in Minnesota or in a bordering state, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance. If you live in a state bordering Minnesota, you must live within 50 miles or less from the primary work location to be eligible for telework.

The Data Analyst Intern will work within the Transitions, Tribal, and Transformation (TT&T) Division under the Aging and Disability Services Administration (ADSA). Under the supervision of the Transformation Supervisor, the intern will collaborate with the Quality Assurance team and the Transformation Unit to support quality improvement efforts and assist with data collection, analysis, and related procedures across the division. Through this work, the Data Analyst Intern will contribute to data-driven insights and support recommendations that inform the Transformation Unit's strategic goals and workload with impact across the TT&T Division on key initiatives, including Money Follows the Person (MFP) and the Money Follows the Person Tribal Initiative (MFP TI), known in Minnesota as Moving Home Minnesota. The intern will assist with the development and presentation of reports to meet business and program needs, conduct research, support filing and data verification activities, and help maintain accurate and complete datasets.

Some responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assist in defining and improving data collection and analysis procedures

  • Create and present reports to support business and programmatic needs

  • Conduct research to support data analysis and reporting efforts

  • Perform data verification to ensure accuracy and completeness

  • Assist with filing and maintaining organized data records, including standard operational procedures

  • Support the development of data-driven insights to inform strategic direction and forecasting

  • Contribute analysis that supports work impacting the TT&T Division

  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance Specialist and Transformation team to identify business needs

Minimum Qualifications

To be eligible for an internship, you must meet the following requirements:

You must be a student at an accredited educational institution; or recently graduated December 2025 or May 2026

AND

  • Excellent human relation and communication skills sufficient to represent the position and Division in a professional, efficient, and clear manner

  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and contribute to a culture of inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred majors include: Statistics, Public Health, Health Administration or Policy,Other related quantitative or analytical fields

  • Interest in aging, disability services, and Tribal Nations or community programs

  • A solid understanding of data analysis tools and databases.

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Detail-oriented nature required to assure data accuracy and validity.

  • Communication skills for presenting conclusions or translating data into an understandable document or report.

  • Problem-solving abilities to recognize, analyze, and resolve issues that develop during data gathering and analysis.

  • Time management abilities to prioritize, manage, and finish work within specified timeframes.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be in academic years of sophomore, junior, or senior (Graduate students allowed)

  • Must provide unofficial transcript to show proof of school enrollment

  • Must be willing to reside in Minnesota for the duration of internship

  • Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) criminal background check will be conducted on all finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check.
