As a Structural Engineer Intern at SteelFab, you will be introduced to several different aspects of structural design while working alongside our Engineering, Modeling, and Project Management teams on various projects. You will build on your experiences and skills throughout the internship by taking on relevant responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

Essential Job Functions:

• Review structural and architectural drawings and project specifications
• Assist with structural design related to the fabrication of structural steel buildings
• Assist with design of bolted and welded connections for gravity systems
• Assist with design of bolted and welded connections for lateral force resisting systems
• Learn the code requirements for wind and seismic lateral systems
• Assist the Detailing team by designing and modeling connections in a 3D environment
• Support the Fabrication team by optimizing fabrication assemblies
• Support the Steel Erection team by developing site erection plans
• Collaborate with project Architects and Engineers
• Review of fabrication and erection drawings for project conformance
• Work with onsite subcontractors to identify and resolve field issues
• Assist the Software Development team to improve design technology
