The Internship
Scope of Internship
Join DI-NC's staff in our mission to raise awareness of the talents and skills of people with disabilities.
Support our efforts to approach social issues from a disability lens, one that includes people with disabilties in all aspects of work, community life and recreation.
Assist with planning and execution of activities leading to the DI-NC Fall Conference on October 8, 2026
Assist with managing ZOOM platform via seminars and meetings and with editing video recordings after the meetings
Update the DI-NC list serve as needed
Assist DI-NC to plan and execute a fund raising event to be held in November
Assist DI-NC with the setup and management of our vendor table at Epic Fest at ImaginON on November 7, 2026 by helping children and their families participate in disabiity friendly activitives.
Take photographs at events and during meetings.
Contribute creative ideas to grow our social media presence and to expand our appeal to young adults
Learning Experience
Students will work directly with the Operations Director and Executive Director on a contemporary social issue,,disability, that affects 1 in 5 people in the U.S. Students will experience how a small non-profit management leverages opportunities and resources to acheive impact.
Outcomes
Students will gain the following outcomes
1. Experience with non-profit management
2. Understanding of disability as a social construct.
3. Experience working on creative projects through direct hands on events, virtual seminars and meetings
4. The opportunity to network with DI-NC's 25 business sponsors (including small, medium and large companies).
