Job Summary
Team Penske is seeking a Help Desk / IT Engineer with 1–3 years of professional IT experience to join our high-performance technology team. This role is designed as a growth position, providing exposure across multiple areas of IT—including desktop support, systems administration, and network engineering. The IT Engineer will gain hands-on experience supporting mission-critical infrastructure both at headquarters and trackside, with a technical path involving advanced roles such as Systems Administration, Network Engineering, and Trackside IT Specialist.
Responsibilities
- End-User & Desktop Support
- Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues for end users.
- Install, configure, and update operating systems and business applications.
- Systems Administration (Learning & Support)
- Assist with server setup, patching, monitoring, and backup operations.
- Support virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V) under senior team guidance.
- Contribute to documentation of IT processes, FAQs, and user guides.
- Networking & Trackside Support
- Support setup and teardown of IT equipment at race and test events.
- Assist in configuring switches, access points, and basic network devices.
- Learn diagnostic tools and help monitor network performance.
- Troubleshoot radios, intercoms, and basic cabling as needed.
- Collaboration & Projects
- Work closely with senior IT staff to learn advanced troubleshooting, failover, and system design.
- Participate in IT meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and technical training.
- Contribute to IT inventory management, including laptops, radios, and networking gear.
Requirements
- Experience: 1–3 years of professional IT experience in support, systems, or networking.
- Education: Associate degree in Information Technology or related field (Bachelor’s preferred); or equivalent experience.
- Certifications: A+ certification (or ability to obtain within 45 days). Network+ or other entry-level certifications a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office, and desktop hardware/software troubleshooting.
- Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, routing fundamentals).
- Familiarity with virtualization concepts.
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs and work under high-pressure environments.

- Willingness to travel on weekends for trackside support.
