About CO-LAB
CO-LAB at UNC Charlotte Center City is an innovation and entrepreneurship hub where students, founders, corporate partners, and faculty come together to build solutions, launch ventures, and drive economic growth in Charlotte's North Tryon Tech Hub.

Position Summary
The Marketing & Events Intern will support the CO-LAB Coordinator and Executive Director in planning, promoting, and executing all CO-LAB programs and events, including workshops, speaker series, cohort programs, community gatherings, and a wide range of entrepreneurship events. This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented student who wants hands-on experience at the intersection of marketing, events, and entrepreneurship.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning & Execution
- Assist with planning and logistics for events, workshops, info sessions, and special programs (room setup, tech checks, signage, food, registration)
- Monitor RSVPs, manage guest lists, prepare name badges, and help with on-site check-in and wayfinding
- Capture event photos and short video clips for CO-LAB marketing channels
- Support post-event wrap-up including attendance tracking, feedback collection, and basic reporting

Marketing & Communications
- Draft and schedule content for social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, and other relevant platforms) to promote CO-LAB events, program milestones, founder stories, and partner highlights
- Assist with creation of flyers, slide decks, digital signage, and simple graphics (Canva or Adobe Express)
- Help maintain and update CO-LAB web content and event listings
- Support creation of email newsletters and targeted messages to students, alumni, mentors, and ecosystem partners

Community & Founder Engagement
- Interview founders, program participants, mentors, and partners for short spotlights and posts
- Assist with outreach to organizations, academic departments, and community partners
- Represent CO-LAB at on-campus and community events (tabling, info sessions, resource fairs)

Administrative & Operational Support
- Track event attendance, social media metrics, and basic marketing analytics
- Assist with managing shared calendars, project trackers, and simple databases
- Perform other duties as assigned to support CO-LAB operations and programming

Time Commitment
10-15 hours per week during the summer with flexible scheduling around classes. Primarily based at CO-LAB at UNC Charlotte Center City, with some remote work and occasional evening/weekend hours during key events.
