Job Description
- Work through all phases of the report development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, deployment, and ongoing support. Partner with Financial Services staff and campus stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, data extracts, and reporting applications utilizing WebFOCUS, SQL, and related technologies. Support reporting needs across Banner Finance, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Position Control modules and ensure reporting solutions are accurate, reliable, and aligned with established business processes.
- Develop and maintain Report Central dashboards and related reporting applications that provide campus users with timely access to commonly requested financial information. Support departmental reporting through WebFOCUS, including reports assigned to departmental folders and customized reporting solutions for individual business units.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Data Infrastructure & Governance team in the utilization and enhancement of Denodo views, reporting structures, and other data resources that facilitate ad hoc and self-service reporting capabilities for campus users. Recommend improvements to reporting solutions and data structures that improve accessibility, consistency, and usability of institutional financial information.
- Provide technical support and consultation to report users, troubleshoot reporting issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Ensure that reporting errors and data issues are detected, documented, and managed to maintain the integrity and availability of reporting solutions.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Financial Services business processes and Banner data relationships in order to provide meaningful reporting solutions and serve as a trusted resource to Financial Services staff and campus users.
- Work collaboratively with other reporting resources within Financial Systems Support to share knowledge, maintain continuity of operations, and provide cross-functional support for critical reporting processes. Participate in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of highly specialized financial reporting solutions, including financial statements and other mission-critical reports. Ensure adequate documentation, knowledge transfer, and cross-training to maintain the long-term sustainability and supportability of reporting solutions and minimize operational risk associated with key reporting functions.
- Develop and maintain technical specifications, report inventories, and documentation consistent with departmental standards. Maintain source control and documentation of report logic, development, testing, and deployment processes.
- Develop and maintain an inventory of reports, dashboards, and data views that is accessible to users. Develop user documentation and provide training and guidance regarding Report Central dashboards, WebFOCUS reports, and self-service reporting capabilities. Promote reporting standards and best practices to improve reporting effectiveness across the University.
