Job Description
How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The Graduate Intern -Corporate Safety is responsible for the upkeep and communication of Delta's OSHA program guidelines. This position helps ensure that Corporate Safety provides support to departments with Emergency Action Plan (EAP) development and assist with the updating of the Corporate Safety Policies and Procedures Manual (SPPM). The successful candidate will work with the OSHA program's team and support current team initiatives. This requires use of Delta's policy and procedure manuals, the Delta intranet, as well as, OSHA, ANSI, and NFPA resources. The position will report to the Manager - Corporate Safety Strategy and Innovation.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks)

Develop knowledge of regulatory and divisional compliance requirements

Assist departments develop their Emergency Action Plans (EAP)

Assist in the review and updating of the Corporate Safety Policies and Procedures Manual (SPPM)

Support the OSHA program's team with current initiatives as needed.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
-
Qualified candidate must be enrolled as a current/active student in an accredited master's program at a college and/or university.

Currently obtaining master's degree in Occupational Safety, Fire and Life Safety, or other Safety related field.

Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910, NFPA 101, and Emergency Management.

Candidate must be willing to commit to the duration of the internship which may last up to 12 months or longer.

Must be able to work onsite in our Atlanta, GA office for the duration of the internship.

Must have strong verbal and writing skills.

Must be able to effectively work with standard Microsoft Office products.

Advanced Excel skills (V-Lookup, Pivot Table).

Possess a basic knowledge of Smartsheet.

Ability to travel up to 10%.

Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
-
OSHA 29 CFR 1910 regulation interpretation and application experience, preferably holds an OSHA 30 General Industry card.

Emergency Action Plan development experience.

Experience coordinating Fire Drills.
