Job Description
The undergraduate researcher will perform laboratory experiments and measurements to quantify molecular hydrogen generation during the hydrothermal alteration of ultramafic rocks and minerals. Specifically, the student should be interested in performing experimental geochemistry at elevated pressures and temperatures at conditions representative of the subsurface of marine and terrestrial environments. The student should also be interested in using analytical equipment housed with the Department of Earth, Environmental, and Geographical Sciences at UNCC. These equipment include gas chromatographs, UV spectroscopy, mass-spectrometry, and various lab measurements, such as for pH using micro-electrodes.
