Job Description
The Creative Designer is responsible for the creation of promotional photography and video for our programmatic areas, the development of all print and digital outreach materials, and the management of the department's social media accounts. Members should be dedicated to learning all facets of the department and possess an interest in promoting these offerings. This group will also work closely with the Brand Ambassadors while reporting to the Outreach and Engagement supervisor to plan and execute signature events for the department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Possess knowledge of/demonstrate an interest in learning about the programmatic areas within University Recreation
- Capture and edit photo content for all program areas.
- Assist in the creation of all outreach materials for the department, including but not limited to: posters, banners, flyers, handbills, postcards, and digital signage
- Develop graphics for promotional items, logos, department website, and social media platforms
- Film, compile, and edit promotional videos for programs and special events
- Research trends in the industry and present campaign ideas to the Outreach and Engagement supervisor for implementation
- Edit departmental website when needed.
- Review designs for errors and to ensure brand standards are upheld
- Promote, & facilitate signature events (RecFest, 5K, Golf Tournament, etc.)
- Assist in seeking out stories of exceptional patrons and student employees for Spotlight Interview series when needed
- Assist in writing editorial items for UNC Charlotte publications when needed
- Assist in planning and facilitating promotional tables and events around campus to engage students with our brand when needed
- Assist in facilitating presentations to the University community upon request (academic courses, Residence Halls, Greek Life Organizations, and NSO sessions, etc.)
Education Requirements:
- Must be current UNC Charlotte student
Technical Requirements:
- Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign or similar creative platforms
- Experience with photography and videography
Hours:
- Will fall between 10-15 hours
