Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Co-Op
Department: Repair
Reports To: Engineering Manager
SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gain process expertise in areas such as Thermal Barrier Coatings, Non-conventional machining, Metrology, Welding, Diffusion Bonding, Vacuum Heat Treatment.
- Analyze product specifications and clarify product requirements with R&D, engineering, quality, and product management teams.
- Create and maintain process and product documentation, providing manufacturing/repair instructions to the shop floor.
- Plan equipment layout, tools, and IT programs, and contribute to designing the manufacturing workflow and tooling.
- Engage with shop floor employees, customer service, engineers, quality, and customers to provide manufacturing solutions and technical feedback.
- Build and compile technical reports for customers.
- Continuously improve engineering and workshop processes through digitalization and automation tools.
- Use statistical tools to drive quality and support department and site KPIs.
- Investigate new manufacturing processes and technologies to improve safety, quality, and cost reduction.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Course work toward a Bachelor's degree in engineering with a major in industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, or materials engineering preferred.
- Desire to gain engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Lean manufacturing training/experience is helpful.
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects, and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
- Work in both an office setting and manufacturing environment, with occasional extended work hours.
