Job Description
The position is responsible for providing accurate academic advising to individuals and groups of current and potential undergraduate students in the College. Advisors proactively communicate with students who have poor mid-term grade performance or who have other risk factors for retention and/or success. Advisors assist in the management and operation of the CHHS Advising Center as determined by or in consultation with the Director, and assist in preparing reports related to student enrollment and progression. The position contributes to the professional development of fellow colleagues and unit-level advisors. On occasion, academic advisors are involved in creating and implementing student programs that focus on improving student success, retention, and graduation (i.e., College’s Learning Community, 49er Rebound, University Convocation, Transfer Student Program, Prospect for Success Program, etc.).
