Job Description
The Senior Program Manager reporting to the Director, Program Management is responsible for overseeing all aspects of online, hybrid, and off-campus academic programs, serving as a key liaison between the School of Professional Studies and academic colleges. This role ensures seamless program planning, execution, and assessment while maintaining compliance with institutional policies. Core responsibilities include program support, student services, compliance activities, and quality assurance, with a focus on enhancing the effectiveness and visibility of academic offerings.
A primary function of this position is program support, which involves managing assigned programs, forecasting enrollment trends, and serving as a strategist for program enhancements. The Senior Program Manager collaborates closely with academic leadership and SPS teams to implement initiatives that strengthen student engagement and success, program quality, and program visibility.
Beyond program oversight, the Senior Program Manager plays a vital role in student services, working with campus units including admissions, academic advising, Atkins Library, and OneIT to enhance the student experience. Responsibilities also include supporting new student orientations and promoting faculty training in collaboration with the Center for Teaching and Learning. Moreover, this role ensures quality assurance by analyzing academic program performance data, supporting curriculum design quality standards and accreditation standards, and staying current with evolving technologies and best practices in online and hybrid education.
In terms of compliance, the Senior Program Manager works with academic departments to prepare necessary documentation for UNC General Administration and SACSCOC accreditation. The role requires effective coordination with campus offices such as Admissions, Registrar, and Institutional Research to ensure accurate data reporting.
