General Description:

The League of Conservation Voters Education Fund (“LCVEF”), a non-profit organization, builds grassroots power to protect people and the planet. We envision a world in which tackling the climate crisis, confronting environmental injustice, and strengthening our democracy lead to cleaner and healthier communities, good, well-paying jobs, and a more just, equitable, and sustainable planet for all.

For more than 50 years, LCVEF has fought for solutions to the interconnected threats our environment and democracy face. We do so by expanding voter participation, advocating for policy change, engaging in public education, mobilizing, organizing, and building grassroots power in communities, and partnering with and supporting our 30+ state affiliates across the country.

Democracy for All is one of the largest and most dynamic civic engagement programs in the nation and the largest program within the environmental movement. As a program of LCVEF, we operate in partnership with 30 state affiliates in the Conservation Voter Movement (CVM) which gives Democracy For All substantial capacity and geographic reach. Over the last four election cycles, we have established a track record of running highly effective, research-based nonpartisan voter registration programs that are rooted in racial justice and work in collaboration with the communities most impacted by environmental degradation. Since our first program in 2012, we have helped over a million individuals register to vote. LCVEF and many state affiliate partners have also prioritized increasing our efforts to protect and promote voting rights. These issues are central to the success of environmental priorities, and are, therefore, central to the success of the Conservation Voter Movement.

LCVEF is seeking a Civic Engagement Field Site Development Intern for Summer 2026 to support the Civic Engagement team and CVM programs with field site development and best practices for localized, site-based voter engagement. The intern will support research and analysis of community-based field sites, assist in documenting and assessing effective site-based engagement models, and contribute to identifying strategies that strengthen nonpartisan voter outreach in local contexts. This internship will also support the synthesis and presentation of findings that inform field strategy, site selection, and deployment planning for future nonpartisan civic engagement efforts. The Civic Engagement Field Site Development Intern will join the Summer 2026 internship cohort that will participate in development opportunities, including a Capstone project, informational interviews with staff, and organization-wide trainings and discussions. Summer interns participate in brown bag lunches with various members of LCVEF’s senior management team.
