Job Description
Catawba Valley Engineering & Testing is looking for a Entry Level Project Engineer to manage and support the geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing side of our firm.
Geotechnical engineering project involvement may include:
- Preparation of Geotechnical Engineering Reports with conclusions and recommendations generated through collaboration with senior staff.
- Field logging during geotechnical drilling activities.
- Soil sample classification, assignment of laboratory testing, and interpretation of laboratory testing results.
- Soil Test Boring Layout and site accessibility evaluation.
- Prepare drilling assignment packages.
- Coordination of private and public utility clearance.
- Perform specialty in-situ testing.
- Proposal preparation
- Budget management
- Client management and relationship
Construction materials testing project involvement may include:
- Coordination and oversight of field staff performing field testing services.
- Review daily field reports for compliance with project contract documents.
- Review laboratory test results for compliance with project contract documents.
- Non-conformance resolution management.
- Perform field testing and special inspection observations.
- Training of field staff
- Proposal preparation
- Budget management
- Client management and relationship
Requirements
- Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar
- 0 to 4 years of experience
- Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred but not required.
- A professional license is not required in this position but is necessary to progress in your career.
