STW: Scene Shop Carpenter

Job Description: Working in the UNC Charlotte Scene Shop under the supervision of the Technical Director and Assistant Technical Director to produce high-quality scenery for the College of Arts and Architecture Theater Department. Assisting with load-ins and strikes. Work can include: building scenery, cleaning the shop, and organizing and maintaining tools and inventory. Students must have a high regard for safety and be dependable.

Other Work Responsibilities -Students will be safely carrying various items varying from 0-40lbs. -Students must be comfortable using hand trucks, carts, and getting dirty. -Students will be working on their feet for long periods of time.

Preferred Skills: -Experience building from drawings is a plus. -Being comfortable to work in a genie lift. -MIG welding experience is a plus.

Available Hours: The scene shop is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00am-4:00pm. Please do not apply if you are not available to work during those hours. Occasional weekend hours are a possibility depending on the needs of productions
