EcoReps assist the Sustainability Office by supporting events and conducting peer-to-peer outreach based on campus sustainability goals and programs. Duties include face-to-face communication at campus venues, event logistical support, and volunteer coordination. 

EcoReps should have a strong understanding and dedication to the sustainability goals at UNC Charlotte. They should be able to verbally communicate with and educate fellow students about sustainability initiatives on campus, and be open to learning and applying new information and skills. EcoReps should be flexible and adaptable to dynamic schedules, and commit to working 10 hours per week at scheduled events during the week and on some weekends (e.g. special campus events). EcoReps are expected to use Google Calendar to schedule work shifts and communicate with supervisors about their availability. 

Required physical abilities for an EcoRep include working outdoors in most weather conditions, lifting moderate weights, and assisting in the sorting of waste during and after campus events.
