Siemens IT Americas supports all IT-related functional and business activities throughout North and South America as well as global Siemens programs and initiatives. The organization is made up of local, regional, and global units that collaborate as OneIT to deliver innovative, world-class IT solutions to our business.

Siemens Corp., IT Data Analytics (IT DA) organization is seeking qualified candidates for its IT Americas Internship Program in Data Science to support its regional customers in advanced analytics activities beginning in May 2025. This program is based in Alpharetta, GA.

Role Description:

  • Provide support in the ongoing data science projects in the Region specifically the Americas, including the Tableau SaaS migration.

  • Build frameworks for machine learning and GenAI projects and use these frameworks to solve business problems.

  • Write SQL and Python programs to support with data engineering and machine learning use cases.

  • Work on visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI to create user friendly dashboards and analyze data.

  • Interface with architects and senior developers to review code and the developed dashboards.

  • Document activities in a structured manner that enables carrying forward the project and reducing dependencies.

  • Use Snowflake to review and analyze data.

Other Duties:

  • Work with subject matter experts (SME) to better understand the Siemens processes and use cases.

  • Identify areas for improvement and be proactive in implementing automation wherever possible.

  • Publish documentation in Internal SharePoint site and wiki site.

Basic Qualifications

  • Current rising senior undergraduate students pursuing a bachelor's degree or current graduate students pursuing a master's degree.

  • Pursing a degree in Management of Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Alpharetta, GA and be able to work 40 hours per week from May to August.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient working knowledge in programming languages such as Python and SQL.

  • Understanding of machine learning algorithms and/or large language models (i.e. scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch), with the ability to implement these algorithms.

  • Good understanding of data visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Power BI).

  • Understanding of prediction model evaluation and validation techniques.

  • Proficiency in feature engineering and selection.

  • Basic understanding of version control systems, Snowflake, and large language models.

  • Exposure to sprint planning, stand-ups, and other Agile practices.

  • Ability to work effectively with multinational and diverse group and demonstrate leadership skills.

  • Capacity to efficiently manage and prioritize a variety of concurrent activities.

  • Curiosity to learn new tools and improve on the job.
