Job Summary:

The Operational Excellence Intern will support the HIDS operations team in driving operational improvements. Responsibilities will include a deep dive into areas of opportunity within our Operational workflows and processes, aimed at reducing revenue leakage and waste.

Essential Functions:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, insights, and feedback on current processes and opportunities. Conduct thorough analyses of existing operational processes to identify areas of revenue leakage, waste, and inefficiency. Develop and recommend improvement initiatives, including but not limited to process redesign, automation, and optimization. Utilize analytical tools and methodologies to measure the effectiveness of suggested changes to allow for tracking of progress over time. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders. Actively participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and workshops focused on continuous improvement. Assist in documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices to ensure consistency and sustainability of improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a postgraduate program, preferably in Supply Chain Engineering, Operations Research, Analytics or Industrial Engineering or a related field.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, interpret, and analyze data from various sources.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.

  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma is desirable but not required.

  • Demonstrated interest in operational excellence, business process optimization, or related fields through coursework, projects, or prior experience.

Location:

Must be based in the US- Remote

Work timings : 9 am to 5pm EST/CST

Pay Rate:

  • Interns who have not yet completed a Bachelor's Degree earn $14/hour or the local minimum wage, whichever is greater. Interns who have completed a Bachelor's Degree earn $17/hour.

Summer Intern Program Dates:

  • The Summer Intern Program is expected to start May 20 th , 2024 and end August 9 th , 2024. These dates are flexible based on team and intern preferences.
