Staff Accountant
STAline Waterworks, Inc. is looking for a staff accountant to join our growing company. The staff accountant is responsible for assisting the controller in maintaining the financial records of the company. This is a hybrid position with required on site time as needed by the company as well as remote time available.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the general ledger team in maintaining the company’s financial records.
- Handle month-end closing duties to include preparing and posting journal entries.
- Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Conduct monthly income statement fluctuation analysis.
- Generate and distribute standard accounting reports.
- Complete weekly cash reconciliations.
- Provide external audit assistance by gathering internal records and responding to inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with property and sales tax reporting.
- Maintain company business licenses and complete applications when needed to secure new business licenses.
- Respond to inquiries from department and business managers within the organization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications/Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor’s or associates degree in Accounting or related field of study or a minimum of 12 months related work experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and write general business correspondence.
- Ability to analyze and interpret reports, technical procedures, regulations, and policies.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, or public.
- Ability to search files and databases and compile information gathered into reports.
- Ability to analyze financial information, and calculate figures and amounts.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written, or diagram form and solve problems involving several concrete variables.
