To assist in the organizing and directing of warehouse workers to provide exceptional customer service to all CES customers through the receiving, putaway, replenishment, cycle counting, returns, and picker/packer processes per the established operating procedures. Operate all assigned equipment, including material handling, RF, and computer applications in accordance with SOP's, operating procedures and policies. Comply with safety as detailed by the company and OSHA policies. Assist in other departments as decided by managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides backup assistant manager support, to include:

  • Develop and maintain an appropriate level of understanding of warehouse operations. Ensure that all work is performed with a consistent sense of urgency to meet customer requirements and in compliance with defined quality system procedures, work station, safety, OSHA, housekeeping, start up, Labor Management, and Warehouse Management System standard operating procedures.

  • Monitor the warehouse workforce to ensure work direction as required and to maximize production.

  • Provide training support (as directed by the warehouse manager) to all warehouse staff.

  • Seek better operating methods to increase productivity and lower operating costs.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse and practice all safety procedures.

  • Portray the company in a good image at all times.

  • Develop and maintain an appropriate level of understanding of warehouse operations.

  • Work in harmony with fellow Associates and visitors to achieve an optimum level of production on a consistent basis.

  • Complete work forms and miscellaneous paperwork accurately and properly that is related to the movement of product and job standards, including signing all documents.

  • Maintain necessary inventory controls clerical records and information needed to verify expenditures.

  • Ensure that work area is kept clean, organized and safe.

  • Complete all cross-training required in all duties of receiving, shipping and delivery with the exception of driving company vehicles.

  • Participate in periodic staff meetings and other meetings as necessary.

  • Participate in and satisfactorily complete all training and development programs as required of the position.

  • Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks within the scope of assigned Essential Responsibilities as may be required from time-to-time by management representatives.

    SUPERVISION

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities but does provide work direction for the Warehouse Selector position.

    RELATIONSHIPS

    The incumbent is required to interact with associates at all levels of responsibility throughout the company as well as:

    ? Internal and External Customers

    ? Suppliers

    ? Vendors

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education/Training: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Related Experience: Familiarity with material and supplies handling is required. Prefer experience in warehousing, mail or shipping operations. Prefer one-year forklift experience. The incumbent must be certified to operate Forklift and other Warehouse Operations power equipment as defined by OSHA rules and regulations.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: The position requires a high level of ability to process information accurately. In addition the position requires a high level of ability to use WMS applications and LM systems.

    Physical Requirements:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an Associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The Associate frequently is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The Associate is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Associate must regularly lift items to a height of three to four feet and/or move items that weigh up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift items to a height of three to four feet and/or move items that weigh more than 80 pounds with assistance. The Associate is also required to push/pull items that weigh up to 50 pounds and occasionally push/pull items that weigh up to 80 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

    Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $27.00-$27.50/hour.
