Job Description
Autism Strong Foundation comes alongside families to provide financial assistance to help them pay for these expenses, which can make a significant difference in the lives of children with autism and their families. Autism Strong can be a valuable resource for families residing in the Carolinas facing financial challenges as they raise a child with autism. Autism Strong Foundation is a small nonprofit with one full-time and 4 part-time staff members. Programs for Autism Strong involve sensory events for families that we hold throughout the year including our BuildStrong festival, Santa Pictures, and ConnectStrong conference. The Program department also attends events and has information tables for attendees to learn about the organization. This department also runs our scholarship programs. Autism Strong Foundation provides hundreds of scholarships annually to families with an autism diagnosis in the home.
The Project
The Outreach Intern is a vital role in the growth of Autism Strong Foundation. This intern will research organizations, schools, and businesses for outreach regarding our scholarships, family-friendly events, and educational summit. This position will also be working to aid in our fall scholarship vetting process. We provide scholarships for therapy services for families as well as holiday gifts for entire households.
Learning Experience
Programming is the heart of nonprofits. This internship will provide a thorough education on several programs that Autism Strong runs annually. The intern will learn the process of a program and learn the software platforms nonprofits use to complete business including CRMs.
Outcomes
The student will learn how to organize and analyze program outcomes. The student will learn how to use a variety of software programs including scholarship software and CRM.
