STW: Summer Tour Guide (Housing and Hourly Wage)- 2026

Position: The Visit Program under the direction of the Undergraduate Admissions Office is responsible for delivering campus tours for prospective students. Current Niner Guides are eligible for this paid summer position which includes campus tours and assisting with other Visit Program-related administrative duties. On-Campus Housing in a residence hall will be provided from May 18, 2026 - August 1, 2026. Housing is provided on the condition that Niner Guides can provide tours weekly June 1, 2025 through August 7th. A weekly minimum of 15 hours of tours in June and 20 hours of tours in July/August is required. A limited number of positions are available and priority will be given to those who have availability during tour times of 9:00 am - 11:30 am, 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm. An additional tour time in the month of July includes 11:00 am - 1:30 pm.

Responsibilities:
Assist with Niner Guide operations by greeting and welcoming guests for their campus tours.
Assist with Niner Guide operations by delivering campus tours- in-person and virtually.
Other similarly related responsibilities as assigned or required.

Preferred Skills:
Must be a current Niner Guide at time of hire.
A student in good standing with at least one (1) year of coursework.
Ability to relate to a diverse population with excellent communication skills.
Ability to deal with confidential material in a professional manner.
Understanding different learning and communication styles.
Ability to deal with high stress and fast-paced office environment.
Willingness to work for at least three, 2.5 hour shifts during weekdays and some Saturdays as available.
Preference will be given to individuals available during tour times below:
Monday- Friday: 9:00-11:30, 11:00-1:30, 2:00-4:30
Saturday: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Students with all day availability on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays will receive more hours.

Professional Development Skill Outcomes: Communication, Teamwork, Professionalism, Work Ethic. Tour Guides will work with students from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Tour Guide will need to be able to modify communication style based on the situation. Tour guide will need to remain professional at all times and be a positive role model for teammates. Tour Guide will need to work effectively as part of a team to meet the goals of the department. Responsibilities may differ on daily basis depending on the needs of the team professionals must be flexible, adaptable and dependable.
