Job Description
Selection to be a member of UNC Charlotte’s Enrollment Programs & Communications leadership team is an honor and a rewarding opportunity for both personal and professional growth. Each year, UNC Charlotte selects one graduate student intern to assist with implementing the University’s New Student Orientation (NSO) program and support for the undergraduate staff within Enrollment Programs & Communications (EPC). The graduate intern will join a leadership team of twelve (12) student interns and ten (10) professional staff members overseeing a team of approximately 30 Orientation Counselors (OCs).
Responsibilities
- Assist with operations of New Student Orientation, including but not limited to:
- Tour liaison for morning operations
- Interest Session support
- Campus Business support
- Check-out support
- Serve as a positive role model and facilitator for Orientation Counselors in assisting new students and families at orientation to make all participants feel comfortable and welcome, answering any and all of their questions.
- Assist with Extended Orientation efforts, including but not limited to:
- Benchmarking and assessment of implemented programs
- Assist with New Student Community (NSC) summer operations
- Support major event planning: NSC interest sessions and fall events (ex. retreat)
- Support
- Support Enrollment Programs & Communications with emails and phone calls, including:
- Call outs/trees to incoming students to make sure they are moving through the NSO process
- Emailing students and families about their upcoming NSO session
- Support New Student Module issues
- Other duties as assigned.
