Job Description
The Creative Cornerstone is a Charlotte-based nonprofit that empowers youth ages 13–18 from low-income communities through hands-on media arts education. We offer programs in film, photography, music production, and digital storytelling, helping students build creative skills, confidence, and career readiness. Through partnerships with schools, recreation centers, and industry professionals, we provide high-quality instruction, mentorship, and real project experience. Our mission is to ensure equitable access to the arts and to inspire the next generation of storytellers to discover their voice and shape their future.
The Project
We are seeking a Behind-the-Scenes (BTS) Videographer to capture high-quality footage and photos of our Spring Workshop Series for use in promotional marketing content. The ideal candidate can document workshops in a dynamic, engaging style and has the ability to edit both video and photography into polished, compelling promotional materials.
Learning Experience
The student will gain hands-on experience in real-world media production by capturing behind-the-scenes footage and photography during our Spring Workshops. They will strengthen their technical skills in videography, photography, and editing while learning how to create engaging promotional content for a nonprofit organization. The role provides opportunities to practice storytelling, work in active workshop environments, collaborate with creative professionals, and build a diverse portfolio that can support future academic or career opportunities in film, media arts, and digital marketing.
Outcomes
High-Quality BTS Footage: Capture engaging behind-the-scenes video and photography throughout the Spring Workshop Series.
Edited Promotional Content: Produce polished short videos and photo sets that can be used for marketing, social media, and future program promotions.
Expanded Student Portfolio: Student will develop a strong collection of real-world media content showcasing their videography, photography, and editing skills.
Enhanced Technical Skills: Improved competency in camera operation, lighting awareness, audio considerations, and post-production editing.
Professional Experience: Gain practical experience working with a nonprofit media arts organization and collaborating with staff, instructors, and youth participants.
Storytelling Development: Strengthen the ability to capture authentic moments and shape them into compelling promotional narratives.
