Job Description

Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school Structural Engineering student for a paid summer internship for Summer 2025 at our Greenwood Village, CO; Tulsa, OK; or Richmond, VA office. The summer internship has a commitment of approximately mid-May through mid-August 2025. 

 

We will be accepting resumes for this opportunity from approximately September – November 2024. Resumes will be reviewed as they are received. Interviews will take place in the Fall/Winter. Offers will be extended in Winter/Spring. Timeframe subject to change.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

 

The Merrick Intern Program will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of structural engineering. The intern will be exposed to a variety of structural engineering in an industrial setting with items potentially including structural analysis using computer finite element analysis, structural steel design, foundation design, concrete design, analysis of existing structures, exposure to , ASCE, and ACI codes and standards, and exposure to drawing creation using AutoCAD as well as engineering quality assurance procedures.

 

The position requires collaboration with other disciplines, ability to interface with clients and contractors, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to problem solve. Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school.
  • Must be pursuing an engineering degree in , Civil, Architectural Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited program.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without Sponsorship.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous internship in Structural Engineering.
  • Experience with or exposure to AutoCAD.
  • Local candidates preferred.
