Job Description

About
The mission of the Global-ready Research and Equitable Education in Teaching (GREET) Center in the Cato COED is to prepare undergraduate students, especially preservice teachers, with research skills to support their career development. The GREET Center was established with a University of North Carolina (UNC) System Undergraduate Research Grant and is a UNC System hub for undergraduate research-focused professional development integrated through course- based undergraduate research experiences (CURES). The GREET Center CURES have been implemented by more than 20 faculty and over 500 undergraduate students in the UNC System.

The Project
Seeking a highly-motivated, hard-working undergraduate student to work 40 hours of time for the six weeks of the project. The project seeks a technically skilled undergraduate student to help with website updates, content design, and promotion of the AI Assisted Research module for the GREET Center.

Outcomes
There are four expected outcomes for this project: 1) First, the undergraduate student will help develop GREET Center’s module focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Assisted Research; 2) Second, the undergraduate student will help with updating the GREET Center’s website with the AI Assisted Research module; 3) Third, the undergraduate student will assist with the promotion and recruitment of participants to engage with the AI Assisted Research module; and 4) Fourth, the undergraduate student will further gain career skills through consistent communication, collaboration, leadership development, and engaging in professionalism. Additionally, the work will be hybrid in nature. There will be a weekly in-person meeting with Dr. Byker over the project’s six week time frame. These in-person meetings will be one hour in length. It will also include remote work for the website updates and improvements. Dr. Byker will be available for Zoom check-in type meetings throughout the course of the project.
