STW: Graduate Assistant – Maintenance Planning & Asset Manag

This position will support the UNC Charlotte Facilities Management Maintenance Operations Department. This position works closely with the Maintenance Program Planner and Asset Management Specialist to assist with maintenance planning, equipment data management and asset labeling activities.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand preventive maintenance (PM) concepts, workflows and best practices used within Facilities Management.
• Assist in creating, updating, and maintaining preventive maintenance job plans and procedures in Archibus (CMMS).
• Modify existing PM schedules based on operational needs.
• Compile predictive maintenance data to identify trends or anomalies.
• Update and maintain accurate equipment information in Archibus:
• Manufacturer, model and serial numbers
• Location and asset details
• Utilize Dropbox, ESRI and the BAS for records and equipment maintenance.

• Field Support
• Assist in creating new asset labels for replaced or newly installed equipment.
• Support on-site labeling activities in coordination with Asset Managers.
• Verify equipment identification in the field and ensure alignment with CMMS records.

Requirements and skills

• Current graduate student at UNC Charlotte : Construction and Facilities Engineering, Engineering Management, Industrial & Systems Engineering preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with technical data.
• Experience in MS Office and ability to learn enterprise systems (Archibus or similar CMMS).
• Willingness to work in both office and field environments, including working on roofs and climbing ladders.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, a collaborative communication style and strong interpersonal skills. 
• Follow basic safety requirements while assisting with field activities.
