Description
Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in the plant. Responds to manufacturing issues and concerns to ensure products are produced to specifications. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines the parts, equipment, and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):
· Develops assembly instructions for new products to ensure quality and speedy inspection.
· Provides timely, accurate and competitive piece rates for current and developing products.
· Studies and records time, motion, methods in speeds and performance of production and other work operations to establish standard production rates and to improve efficiency.
· Institutes changes in the production processes and/or recommends adjustments to produce pricing.
· Communicates with customers and engineering staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
· Confers with vendors to determine part specification and recommends the purchase of equipment and materials used in production.
· Develops and writes equipment specifications, performance requirements, cost analysis, and proposal for integrating machinery and equipment into manufacturing process.
· Prepares detailed quotations for fixture, tool, and engineering requirements to be used in developing a formal quote for customer.
· Coordinates all aspects of a job including tool design, fixture design, numerical control, part programming, machine delivery, prove-out, and runoff of a customer's part.
· Provides detailed documentation of a job including tool and fixture drawings, definition of setup, and operational procedures.
· Tests ability of machines to perform designated tasks.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering strongly preferred.
. 3+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or similar.
· Experience in 3D CAD, Solidworks strongly preferred
· Ability to effectively present information to management team.
· Advanced skills in Microsoft Office software.
· General knowledge of industry standards.
