Portfolio Risk Analyst
Asbury Management Group, Inc.
Full-Time
Closes on Monday, August 3, 2026
Job Description
About the Role
We’re building a next-generation, data-driven audit and risk function and are looking for someone who wants to be at the center of it. This is not a traditional audit role. You’ll work directly with leadership to analyze portfolio performance, detect risk in real time, and help shape how a modern consumer finance platform manages underwriting, fraud, and operations across both physical branches and a growing digital channel.
About Asbury Management Group
Asbury Management Group is a privately owned, multi-state consumer finance company operating 83 brick-and-mortar branches in four states and a rapidly growing digital platform. We are focused on disciplined underwriting, strong portfolio performance, and using data to continuously improve how we serve our customers. We are based out of Waxhaw, NC (a suburb of Charlotte) in a historic home located in the downtown area. We're a small team at home office - 13 people - which means real responsibility from day one and direct access to leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct data-driven audits of branch performance without on-site presence
- Build and maintain risk dashboards at the branch and employee level
- Perform daily forensic reviews of newly originated loans, including customer validation and reconciliation of system activity
- Identify outliers in approval rates, loan size, delinquency, and charge-offs
- Analyze portfolio trends to detect fraud, policy exceptions, and operational breakdowns
- Partner with leadership to improve underwriting discipline and reduce losses
Why This Role Is Different
- You’ll have direct visibility into how a lending business actually works
- Your insights will influence real decisions—not just reports
- You’ll work across both branch-based and digital lending channels
- You'll see how data translates into real financial outcomes and operational decisions
What We’re Looking For
Core Skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Experience working with data (SQL, BI, or similar tools)
- Ability to connect data to behavior and clearly communicate findings
- High attention to detail and intellectual curiosity
- Exposure to finance, lending, fintech, or fraud analytics a plus
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred - comp adjusted upward for fluency
Who Thrives Here
- Naturally curious and enjoys figuring out “why”
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership
- Wants to be part of building something, not just maintaining it
- This role is best suited for someone early in their career with strong analytical skills who wants hands-on exposure to real-world data, risk, and decision-making.
