Job Description

Join our team as a Engineering Intern and join in the fun of working for the industry leader in high performance stretch films. You’ll work closely with our Corporate Engineering Team on projects that will allow you to gain valuable experience working with cutting edge technology.  The skills you are exposed to will begin to build a foundation that will carry you in your career, regardless of where you land after college.  At Paragon Films, we invest in technology and product development.  Paragon holds over 15 issued patents in North America and has a number of pending patent applications.  We are innovative and encourage an environment of bold ideas and visionary problem solving while channeling our efforts into a lifestyle approach to engineering our film.  We focus on technology and sustainability at every step, always focused on minimizing our carbon footprint. 

During your 9-week internship you will:

  • Gain valuable experience working in a plastics production environment.
  • Learn practical application of engineering concepts through providing support to Engineering team on projects for Operations Department, such as equipment modifications, working on design for new line installation, etc.
  • Provide support to Engineering team for day-to-day operations of the production lines and production floor, helping trouble shoot day-to-day issues.
  • Work directly with Engineering team in finding and implementing opportunities to improve process efficiencies.
  • Be immersed in real world business environment with exposure to all departments and training on business leadership skills.

 

Our Engineering Intern will be part of a collaborate environment where we will foster a passion for continuous improvement and learning.  Our ideal intern will be:

  • Pursing an engineering Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar.
  • Able to be on-site in Taylorsville, NC.
  • Able to commit to the duration of the 9-week internship
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of working in a manufacturing environment, which include btu are not limited to the ability to lift up to 50lb rolls of film and 8 hours of bending, stooping, twisting, standing on feet.
  • A self-self-starter who will ask questions, seek to learn and provide thoughtful input on testing results.
