Job Description

Hope Street Food Pantry is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic intern to assist with our daily operations. This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience in the non-profit sector and a chance to contribute to your community.

Responsibilities:



    • Inventory Management: Assist with organizing and maintaining the pantry inventory, ensuring that food items are properly stocked, rotated, and labeled.
    • Client Services: Greet and assist clients, ensuring that they receive the necessary support and resources.
    • Volunteer Coordination: Help coordinate and supervise volunteers, ensuring that they are properly trained and engaged in their tasks.
    • Food Donation: Assist with collecting and sorting food donations.
    • Community Outreach: Participate in community outreach events and activities to raise awareness about the pantry's services.
    • Data Entry: Enter data into the pantry's database, including information on donations, distributions, and volunteer hours.
    • Administrative Tasks: Assist with various administrative tasks, such as emails, photocopying, and answering phone calls.

    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Passion for serving the community  
    • Interest in social work, public health, or a related field
