Monarch NC, a trusted provider of high‑quality, trauma‑informed care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, and substance use disorders, is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Crisis team in Lumberton, North Carolina.

 

Work Schedule:

  • Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday & Sunday (7:00pm -7:00am)
  • Week 2: Monday, Friday & Saturday (7:00pm - 7:00am) 

 

What You’ll Do

As a Crisis RN, you will play a key role in stabilizing and supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health or substance use concerns. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direct nursing care and clinical assessment within Monarch’s Behavioral Health Division
  • Supervising paraprofessional staff delivering crisis services
  • Completing assessments to determine appropriateness for admission, health status, mental status, medication needs, and overall level of functioning
  • Administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and observing responses to treatment
  • Following detoxification and crisis stabilization protocols
  • Coordinating emergency medical referrals when needed
  • Participating in treatment planning, crisis planning, and aftercare planning
  • Educating individuals and families about mental illness and substance use disorders
  • Submitting necessary authorizations for treatment and documenting all interventions according to best practices

 

You will work closely with the nurse manager, nurse supervisor, lead RN, clinical operations director, and other clinical leaders to ensure safe, effective, person‑centered care.

 

What We’re Looking For

To be considered, candidates must have:

  • An Associate’s Degree in Nursing
  • Current North Carolina RN licensure
  • At least 1 year of experience working with adults in a crisis management setting or a role involving crisis response
