Job Description
Supervised by an Assistant Director of Student Accountability & Conflict Resolution, the Graduate Assistant for Student Accountability & Conflict Resolution serves as a paraprofessional staff member and assists in the administrative duties of the student conduct, academic integrity, and alternative resolution processes; serves as a resource for various institutional stakeholders; and provides outreach to members of the University community. This position requires the flexibility, ability, and willingness to work in structured and unstructured settings with students, staff, and faculty.
SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
ï‚• Serve as a university conduct officer, adjudicate and managing conduct and academic integrity cases
ï‚• Coordinate hearing preparation and scheduling for Student Hearing Panels
ï‚• Coordinate SACR workshops, including scheduling sessions, facilitating workshops, and managing sanction completion
ï‚• Serve as an advisor to Student Hearing Panels
ï‚• Assist with coordination of the Student Accountability Board (SAB)
ï‚• Serve as a Student Accountability Resource during hearings as needed
ï‚• Serve as graduate student member for Academic Integrity Hearing Panels as needed
ï‚• Provide advocacy, assistance, and training for students regarding university policies and procedures, including policies related to student conduct and academic integrity
ï‚• Research trends and best practices related to student conduct and academic integrity
ï‚• Assist with the day-to-date operations of the office, including file maintenance and administrative support
ï‚• Assist with other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
ï‚• Enrolled in a graduate program for at least 6 credit hours, be in good academic and conduct standing, and
have/maintain a 3.00 cumulative GPA
ï‚• Available to work 20 hours per week
ï‚• Participate in all ongoing conduct training sessions
ï‚• Attend Student Hearing Panels or Student Accountability Board Meetings (typically once per week)
ï‚• Assist with programming and outreach efforts (may occur during evening or weekend hours)
ï‚• Able to interpret and implement various university policies and procedures
ï‚• Excellent oral and written communication skills, a collaborative communication style, strong interpersonal skills, and proven ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
ï‚• Strong organizational skills
ï‚• 2 year commitment (preferred)
COMPENSATION
Compensation is based on 20 hours per week at $20 per hour over a 36‑week appointment period. The appointment typically runs from the first day of classes in August through graduation week in May.
