Electrical Engineer

This position is located in the Design Branch, Electrical Section, Public Works Division, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC. This is a civil service position.

Bottom Line: We design power systems.

Responsible for the application of electrical engineering theories and practices relating to lighting, interior power distribution, telecommunications, medium-voltage electrical distribution, electrical sub-stations, uninterruptable power systems, backup/emergency generation, automatic transfer switches, renewable generation, microgrids, cathodic protection, lightning protection, and fire alarms in facilities and utility systems.

Serves as both a Project Manager for designs by contracted architect/engineer firms and as an in-house design professional. Performs technical reviews of designs by other government agencies.

Provides support to construction managers in resolving electrical engineering issues encountered during facility and utility construction and renovation.

Serves as a subject matter expert for electrical engineering issues encountered in all facets of facility and utility operations and maintenance. Works closely with maintenance and utilities personnel to determine the correct courses of action in design efforts.
