About the role

This is a Spring Internship that will last from late May 2025 through late August 2025.

Brightly Software, the global leader in intelligent asset management solutions, was acquired with a purchase price of USD 1.6 billion by Siemens in August 2022. Brightly is a fast growth business and operates as a separate global business unit within Siemens Smart Infrastructure. The intern will work in our headquarters in Cary, NC directly with the revenue recognition and expense recognition accounting teams to understand the full order to cash and purchase to pay processes including account reconciliations and process documentation.

The assignment will be focused on: assisting the finance and accounting group in the areas of accounts payable, expense recognition, accruals, and revenue. The intern will also have the opportunity to assist with special projects as they come about and will be an integral member of the team.

The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic software environment where new initiatives and consistent learning define each day. We are looking for a candidate who wants to make a change and is enthusiastic to build relationships.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Analyzing and documenting current accounting processes.

  • Working with team to recommend initiatives to improve accounting processes.

  • Supporting our revenue and expense recognition processes.

  • Working with other departments to understand nature of revenue and expenses being incurred.

  • Reconciliation of accounts as part of normal close activities

What You Need

  • Accounting major currently enrolled in an accredited 4-year educational institution (either a rising junior or senior student)

  • Strong computer skills required, including proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint).

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Must have high attention to detail.

  • Must work effectively in teams, as well as independently.

The pay range for this position is $20/hour. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
