Job Description
International House enriches the lives of foreign born and foreign rooted community members in Charlotte through cross-cultural connections that foster understanding and fuel inspiration. Our hands-on programs help immigrants settle and succeed in this region while supporting local residents and businesses to connect with people and cultures from around the world.
The Project
Our annual fundraiser will be on Friday, October 23 and will host more than 300 guests. It requires an incredible amount of planning, prep, organizing and communicating. This role will be a large part of organizing our event that will be in its fifth year.
Learning Experience
This student will benefit from the behind-the-scenes look at planning for an annual fundraiser for a local nonprofit.
They will support communications with community members who will volunteer, donate auction items and attend our event.
This person will use some creativity - if they are so inclined - to make signs and help with the welcoming of our guests.
We will ask that they be present for the fundraiser and help coordinate aspects of the day.

Outcomes
We need an outstanding communicator with a motivated attitude to be able to jump in wherever needed as there are so many moving parts to planning an annual fundraiser. The expected outcome for this student is to:
Support our team as we prepare for this incredibly important event for our organization
Be open to helping in many different ways as there are so many moving parts to an event this large.
Be a positive community member highlighting International House's importance to our community.
Be a team player - we love interns and hope to provide a fabulous experience for someone willing to work hard, learn new things and enjoy their time with IH.
