Job Description

Atkins Library Circulation Assistants help our students achieve success by providing them access to Library technology, troubleshooting technical issues, and guiding students in the use of library resources. This posting is for an in-person on-campus job for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. On-the-job training is provided, no prior library experience is required. This is a Federal Work Study position only, applicants must confirm receipt of their award before starting.

This posting is for the 8:00AM - 10:00AM shift Mondays through Fridays.

In a typical shift student employees do the following as part of their shift at the Equipment Lending Desk:

  • Check laptops and other library technology in and out
  • Help students install software or resolve problems with laptops
  • Help students print, scan or copy documents
  • Help students check books in and out
  • Help students find books or get in touch with a research librarian

On the job training is provided. No prior experience is necessary. The position is open to any current student but preference is given to freshmen, sophomores and juniors. Reappointment for the Fall 2024 semester is possible, assuming satisfactory job performance.

 

This position starts August 17, 2026 and runs through May 7, 2027 with the option for renewal.
